Two Babelio Baby Gates Named 2026 Baby Safety Alliance® Awards of Excellence Finalists

We’re proud to share some exciting news: two Babelio baby gates have been named finalists in the Safety category of the 2026 Baby Safety Alliance® Awards of Excellence.

The two finalists are:

For us, having two products recognized in the same safety category is especially meaningful. While PressGuard Ⅱ and Sensepass take different approaches to everyday home safety, they were designed around the same idea: helping parents create safer boundaries for children without adding unnecessary friction to family life.

Baby gates are simple in purpose: they help create a safer boundary between a child and areas they shouldn't access.

But for parents, a gate is also something they may open, close, check, and walk through dozens of times a day.

The Babelio PressGuard Ⅱ Baby Gate builds on the familiar convenience of a pressure-mounted baby gate while introducing thoughtful upgrades for everyday use.

One of its most distinctive features is the red-green lock indicator, designed to give parents an immediate visual check of the gate's status:

• Red indicates that the gate is open or unlocked.
• Green provides visible confirmation that the gate is secured.

Instead of relying on repeated checking or guesswork, parents can see the gate's status at a glance.

PressGuard Ⅱ also features a wider walk-through opening, enhanced stability, no-drill pressure mounting, auto-close functionality, a 90-degree stay-open position, and dual-direction swing—all designed around the way families actually move through their homes.

It's an evolution of a familiar baby-safety essential: one that aims to make daily protection more intuitive.

Sensepass: Rethinking How Parents Move Through a Baby Gate

The Babelio Sensepass Smart Baby Gate approaches the same challenge from a different direction.

Instead of requiring parents to manually unlock the gate every time they pass through, Sensepass uses infrared proximity sensing to create a more seamless, hands-free experience.

When an adult approaches, the system is designed to recognize that approach and allow smoother passage—particularly useful during the moments parents know well: carrying a baby, holding laundry, bringing in groceries, or simply moving quickly from one room to another.

Sensepass also includes a sound reminder if the gate has not fully latched, along with automatic closing and locking features.

The goal is not technology for technology's sake. It's using smart features to reduce one more small piece of friction in a parent's day while maintaining the boundary a baby gate is meant to provide.
