Frequently Asked Questions

Unlike standard baby gates that struggle with wall trim, the R30 ProFlex features our exclusive modular hardware system. It includes specialized baseboard pads that bridge the gap created by thick skirting boards, allowing you to achieve a perfectly vertical alignment on uneven vertical surfaces. This ensures the auto-close latch aligns and locks correctly every time.

Absolutely. Crafted from scratch-resistant, heavy-duty steel, the R30 is an ideal pet gate for high-traffic areas. The no-bottom-bar design is a game-changer for pet owners, providing a 100% trip-free path when carrying your pet or laundry. It serves as a secure dog gate for stairs, providing a solid boundary that is far stronger than traditional pressure-mounted options.

The R30 ProFlex is designed for flexible living. While it is securely hardware-mounted for maximum safety, the gate panel itself is removable

Once properly installed, the panel can be detached from the mounted brackets when needed, making it convenient for temporary storage or for opening up your space when the kids (or pets) aren’t around.

Yes. Safety experts recommend hardware-mounted gates for the top of stairs because they offer superior stability against force. The R30 ProFlex is CPSIA-certified, meeting rigorous U.S. federal safety standards. Its dual-locking handle and no-trip design eliminate the leading causes of staircase accidents. (Note: For proper function, ensure your mounting surfaces are parallel to each other.)

To ensure maximum safety at the top of stairs, the R30 ProFlex is a hardware-mounted gate that requires drilling. This method is the only way to support our no-bottom-bar design, providing a 100% trip-free environment while ensuring the gate remains rock-solid against toddler curiosity or pet impacts

The gate adjustment 'shoes' don't fit

There's a but...

It's a great gate, better than the previous version I have. I bought this one because it can be easily removed and replaced without unscrewing it from the wall.

But, the shoes don't fit. They made a smart update by adding 'shoes' that enable either the top or bottom attachment point to be elevated away from the wall to accommodate for baseboards or door frames leaning (it happens).
When they ordered the extra plastic pieces apparently they didn't differentiate between inside and outside dimensions. The primary attachments need to fit inside the shoes to make the gate vertical/level to enable the self closing swing to work well. They don't.

Other than this, it's a 5 star product.

Safety Gate

Safest and sturdiest baby gate we’ve purchased for stairs. Video attached. It fits our stairs with banisters perfectly as it is adjustable. Installing wasn’t hard, we could have paid closer attention to each side being level as i feel that may impact the auto closing feature. We have to give ours a little extra to close it. Opening it is easy for an adult and a very smart toddler may figure it out if they watch you, so be mindful of that. When the top and bottom latch is engaged, you must press a button, slide a latch, and lift up to open BUT one time our bottom latch was not engaged (our fault for not closing good enough… again we feel not being leveled perfectly is the cause for it being more difficult to close) and our toddler opened it. Toddler unable to open when both bottom and top engaged. It’s also easily removed when not in use. We decided it was safer to screw directly into the banisters and when it’s no longer needed we will patch the screw holes. I’m so thankful for the ability to screw it into the wall and banister because our toddler tries with all her might to get past gates and she can’t push or pull this one loose.

Works perfectly

Took about a half hour to install. Not pressure fitted, it must screw into the walls. The retract means that, regardless of how wide you need it, the entire width opens, unlike others that only have a narrow passage. I recommend this.

Great Quality would highly recommend

We love this gate! We have others but different brand names and we would definitely buy this gate again! Opening is generous, love the “spring loading” feature that closes behind you.Locking and opening hand feature is high quality and not sloppy feels like it will last as long as the bars themselves ❤️

Feels pretty solid and we'll made.

Just finished installing. Overall very easy, except that the quick remove feature came assembled and was stuck and a pain to separate without risking damaging the plastic. Ended up threading the locking screw into it and tapping on that with a hammer to pop it out. Once out it is now pretty easy to remove, so I think it was just throughly jammed on during shipping.

perfect for grandparents

R30 allows you to "permanently" install side rails but remove the gate when not necessary. The brackets allow flexibility when mounting it, it swings either direction, I installed so that it cannot swing over the descending stairwell (it hits the stairway trim) but can be swung inward easily.

I looked hard, there are few other hard mounted gates that allow you to remove the gate when not in use, this model works great for that.

Works for me.

Works well for blocking dogs out of an area. I had another one that I'd always take down because of the bar across the bottom and it was annoying. This I can keep open when not needed and there isn't anything to cause a trip.

Pleased with my purchase

Very pleased with my purchase. It was easy to install for my husband. I like that the door can swing both ways and that I can remove it when my grandchildren are not over. I find it very sturdy. I recommend this product.

It’s okay

It works but I’m not to satisfied. After a month the hardware began to get loose. You have to adjust it here and then. Other than that, it works just fine.

This gate has earned our trust.

We got this baby gate for the top of our stairs to keep our littles kids from falling down the stairs. We have had it for a few months now and it has worked great. We got the extra tall one so we didn’t have to worry about the youngest one climbing over. It’s sturdy and I can trust the latches. Safety was obviously the number one thing when looking for which gate to get, and this one has eaten our trust. It looks great and was well worth the money.

Good.. once installed.

Good quality but quite difficult to install. I love how there is no bottom bar and you can remove the door for storage but it is quite difficult to do.... did it once and can't figure out how to remove it again. Instructions aren't the best.

Mixed opinion but adaptable

Functions as expected. Gets annoying to have to lift gate to open it... if not perfectly aligned everytime you get annoyed and aggressively lift... the entire gate comes off the wall (due to its easy removale feature). So I had to disable its easy removal feature by permenantly screwing it in place. Then lower the bottom latch so I dont have to lift it so high to open it. When your carrying a baby and need to open gate with one hand (but have weak shoulder/hand strength) it becomes frustrating to use. Otherwise its good once its perfectly aligned. Later I slightly adapted it to slide to two different lengths so it could be used for two doors that are 90 degrees from eachother.
