PressGuard Ⅱ | Upgrade Pressure-Mounted Safety Baby Gate for Doorways & Stairs

This updated version is much better and easier to install than the older version which has a narrow opening and requires 2 extensions for our stairway. We are replacing the old one that broke after 5 years. The new gate arrived with a broken piece, the bottom latch did not latch. We received a replacement quickly however it is a pain to install a gate, uninstall and install a new one. Especially with 2 little kids, free time is a precious commodity. I don’t enjoy wasting my free time messing around with a broken gate and waiting for a replacement

Very solid made. Quality material and very nice finishing. The instructions are not the greatest, but with a somewhat mechanical touch one can easily figure it out.

I've done through multiple different baby gates (styles, brands, etc) looking for one that will last and hold up to a toddler. I still think each brand and type of baby gate has its own pros and cons, and this one by Babelio is no exception. I specifically went with a pressure mount version this time because I didn't want to have to drill even more holes into my walls, since none of them ever line up again. The pressure mount works well on this gate, and it even included some pads you can screw into the wall to keep the pressure pads in place. I opted not to use the pads, as I think the gate is secure enough right now without them. I also chose this gate because it has a dual lock mechanism. You need to press both the top and bottom of the latch at the same time and in a specific order. Problem we had with the gate before this was our toddler figured out how to open the simple latch. This one is working well so far. This gate is heavier than our last couple gates, and the quality seems better than average too. Overall, I'm fairly impressed with this gate. It has good features, is easy to install and use, and it keeps our toddler from climbing the stairs. Recommended.

This gate hits that sweet spot between safety and convenience. The wide walk-through is super handy when you have your hands full, and the self-closing feature is one less thing to worry about when chasing a toddler or a dog. It holds firm without drilling holes in the wall, which was key for us as renters. The locking mechanism feels solid and reassuring, not cheap or flimsy. It does not scream "baby jail" like some gates do it actually blends in nicely.

Wonderful. Just one thing. When the door shut it closes loudly. Maybe you could put a felt like bumper where it latches

Excellent gates that I use to keep my dogs out of the rooms. They are made very sturdy, not cheap material and will last many years. Prior to this, I had some folding wooden gates, and they busted through all three of them.

The Press Guard II was easy install. The door opens and closes with minimal effort. Finally found an excellent gate for a wider door jam without it constantly coming loose.

This particular gate was chosen because of the wide walk space and single swing opening! Fits great on our 36” doors and looks attractive. Would recommend this product.

Fit our hallway great. Very sturdy gate however our toddler wasn’t too rough with it. Our cat had trouble jumping over it with our hallway block off curtains closed and he’s usually all over the place so he would get stuck on one side sometimes. When properly installed no issue with opening and closing, you do have to play with the tightness on the edges to make sure it lines up properly to swing itself shut and fully latch.

Does the job in general, but if you have a strong toddler who likes to Hulk Smash and charge at things, don't expect to use much longer.

Using it as a puppy gate. Works perfectly. Easy open and automatically closes. No drills needed: installation easy and has a tight hold within the door. We’re very happy with it.

Easy to install and even easier to open as adults!

Got this to replace one that had been up for over two years at the bottom of the stairs. The other one kept the dogs from going upstairs, but the actual gate (not the opening) was half the width of this one, so this is a lot easier to get through. It will self-close and latch if left open less than 90°. At 90° open it will stay open, which is a nice feature, but the wider gate is definitely a plus.

We use this on our lower stair to prevent the pups going to the second floor. Sturdy and it looks great.

Got it to keep my cats downstairs. The wide gate lets us easily pass thru to use the stairs. Had to install it at the bottom of my stairs where there is molding trim and a wall railing. After some creative shifting around I got it set up and working well. Easy in and out!

Easy to put together and works great for the kiddo.

I have a 30in door between a bedroom and the garage and had trouble finding a gate that wouldn't take up too much doorway space. Since my laundry is in the garage, I also want the closing mechanism to be easy and need only one hand to operate. This product fits what I need. The material is sturdy and is fits solidly in the doorway.

This is a much better quality baby gate, and I highly recommend you get first, before spending money on cheaper or different versions. This attaches to the wall nicely, and gate opens and shuts easily. We love it. Going to order another for the kitchen.

I do love this gate but it doesn’t latch properly. All you have to do is lift the door and it will open. At least it won’t latch for us. That will most likely be good enough to keep the our one year old grandson in for now. The dog definitely won’t be opening it which is originally what this thing is for. The gate itself is very sturdy. We don’t expect the problem with our last gate that wore out and would no longer open as the latch spring had worn out. This replacement is far better in that the self closing attribute is excellent. It will also stay open if you open it all the way so my dog can get to her food and water at night and the grandkids are gone. But there will be no escapees out the front door when we aren’t looking and nobody will be surprised by dogs and babies when they come in or when bringing groceries inside.

The gate is well made and designed. However the "user" aka me... created a problem for the gate. When it was first installed it fit perfectly. Then I wanted to "move" it a bit so it looked more "square" with the wall. Unfortunately, I tightened the top adjust screw on the hinge side too much. That bent the framework to the point the gate no longer latched properly. It's safe to tighten the bottom screws but NOT the top ones too tight.
