Boundless S12 | Ultra-Stable No Bottom Bar Baby Gate for Stairs

Perfect for keeping my 170lb fur baby from getting into the dining room and stealing the kids food off their plates. Love that there's no bar at the bottom to trip over. Installation was easy and it's been up almost a year.

It works great keeping the dogs from escaping. It's was easy to set up and pretty sturdy.

I got this to keep my pups on the deck. It is super durable. The latch is so simple and it was very easy to install.

This was not as difficult to install as some of the reviews indicate, but we were installing it outside between two sturdy wooden posts. It did require two people. I don’t know how long this gate will last outside, but it looks good and blends well with our new deck. I chose this gate because it has no lower bar and swings completely open, 180 degrees. The most difficult task was removing the ugly (but probably required by law) WARNING stickers on both sides. That took longer than the actual installation, and we accomplished it with boiling water, a retractable box cutter, and Goo Gone.

Sturdy Gate

Not bad for the price. I bought 6 boxes of these to use along our bulkhead to stop my blind dog from walking into the canal. I wanted something unobtrusive that wouldn't block the view. As others stated, you do have to screw the legs into the fence part. Time consuming but not difficult. I built them in the kitchen on the counter and could build a box of 24 in around 10 minutes. The quality is not bad. About what you would expect at this price point. The downside is as others have stated. The legs don't screw far enough into the nut on the fence part to be stable. However, I received 3 boxes with the short nut and 3 with a longer nut. The longer nut makes a HUGE difference. My husband built the first box and complained about the nut. I built the second box and had no problem. My box had the larger nut his had the smaller. He used plyers on the fencing in his box and messed up the paint so they can't be returned but I am returning the others and going to reorder to see if I receive the ones with the longer nut.

Tall enough for the dogs to not jump over. It works perfectly, the design is made so it can open inward or outward. Has been working great and now we can leave without worrying about them getting out or having to lock them up in the kennel for long periods of time

LOVE this gate! Very sturdy and well made. Definitely follow installation instructions and use the template supplied. We installed ours a little crooked because we thought we could just use a level. The self closure works great and if you want the gate to stay open just open it 90° and it stays until you move it. We needed it to keep our 65 lbs dog out of a room. Our granddaughter also bought one for the top of her stairway because of her toddlers. The "no bottom bar" or threshold was necessary for the top of a staircase. We needed no bottom bar because we're elderly and we're concerned about tripping. The gate is perfect!

We have three of these gates in our house and absolutely love them. They work perfectly in both a narrow doorway and a wider space, fitting each area securely. In the spots where we attached it to drywall, we added a small piece of wood behind the gate for extra stability. In other areas where we drilled directly into wood, it already feels super solid.

I really like that it swings both directions and has a smooth, easy-to-use latch that clicks into place so you know it’s locked. You can open it with one hand, which is a lifesaver when carrying a baby or laundry.

Love these gates. Have one outside for our pool deck and one inside to keep the dogs out of the kitchen.
My only negative would be the include screws are cheap and 4 of them snapped when trying to install. Great closure and stability. Works perfect for us

Love this gate!! It was super easy to install, with the included template, we screwed one side into our newel post and the other side into the wall, at the top of our stairs & it just took a few minutes. It’s very well made, and the width adjust easily to the size you need.
The opening mechanism works smooth, and the gate pivots nicely. It’ll even stay open by itself, when it is opened all the way to a 90° angle.

Works really well. Had to have something that doesn't have the bottom bar because it's blocking a high traffic opening. Cats can squeeze between the gap and wall, or they jump over if zoomies. It does screw to the wall and that will leave holes. Had to use a block spacer on one of the latches because the opening isn't square (fine craftsmanship). I don't fault this product but it would be nice if the bottom latch had a length adjustment. It slams shut pretty hard and so far is holding up to the abuse.

This is a great gate, looks good, fairly easy to adjust with two people. This was a great option for the top of our stairs in the entryway of our split level home and there is still plenty of room for expansion if we would have needed more. Be advised the drywall anchors need to be upgraded otherwise it will just pull out of the wall, we tried with what they sent and the “hinge” side was coming out of the wall after just 2 days. The gate gets lots of use and we’re using it as one of a double gate system for keeping our Giant Schnauzers separated from my daughter’s pit bull mix (all 3 are very strong) so we needed strong anchoring to the wall, for protection of all dogs in the house. We attached 2x4, painted to match the walls, on each side of the stairwell and secured them with 6-8 screws and heavy duty drywall anchors. then the gate is attached to the 2x4s. Works great this way. Someone with proper saws and skill could make the 2x4 look better than what we did.

We bought this to go in front of our basement steps and it works great and easy to install. We have little kids and this helps reduce the risk of tripping because that bottom bar is not there.

It was great at first. After 4 or 5 months I noticed the lock was coming out. I've taped it back in. The tape had lasted about as long. A month or two later, I opened the gate and heard a pop. Since then it will not close on its own. We've only had it for about 10 months, with 2 major parts already broken.

I bought this gate to confine my dogs to only a part of my house. It is very well made and easy to install. My only complaint regards the latch. The little ridged spring-loaded latch is difficult to operate because my thumb cannot get a good grip on it. It needs to be larger so one can get a good thumb push on it, as required to release the catch. This might be a problem only for older folks such as me, whose arthritic hands and fingers are not what they used to be

Very well built, and works nice.

Gate looks beautiful with our newly remodeled porch. Matched nicely with the new black iron railings and the latch function is very easy to use. However, really tricky to install when you have uneven walls to mount the gate onto. This is NOT the manufacture's fault… but still very frustrating. We will see how it "stands the test of time”. For now, it keeps my fur babies safe while looking classy.
